Man, has the world gotten weird since our last blog post. For starters, we hope you are well while reading this. Tell your pups we miss them! With the outdoor parks closing and the toxic algae making its way back into our waters, we thought now would be a great time to announce that we are finally open. We have a safe space for you to send your pups! While COVID has us postponing our lounge areas, indoor photography and event space, our pup services are up and running!
Dogs Around Austin is a local, women-owned, full-service company launching Austin’s first-ever dog community center. We offer low-volume, minimal-kennel boarding, daycare, fear-free-based training, photography, grooming, retai. We even offer pick-up and drop off for our boarding and daycare services! We’ve partnered with one of only 200 certified canine behavior consultants in the world, and all of our staff completed a fear-free, force-free training course. We accept all dogs including intact, anxious, and behavioral and medical special needs dogs.
What makes us a dog community center? We give a portion of all our overnight boarding and pop-up photoshoots to local shelters and recues. You can even choose which one! We now offer the option of having your portion benefit the fight against racial injustice.
Here is a breakdown of our services.
Low-Volume Minimal to No Kenneling Boarding
We specifically chose a house converted into commercial space for our facility so that your pup’s stay can be as stress-free and homey as possible. Each pup’s stay is customized to the owners and dog’s specific needs. We set up our lounge like a living room. We have a full kitchen so we can prepare diets of any types including, raw, semi raw, etc. The kitchen also allows our overnight staff to prepare their own meals! This also helps with our available day training needs like counter surfing. Outdoors we have a half acre fenced and secured according to the AAHA veterinarian grade of security. Our entire outdoor area is surrounded by a 7’ wooden privacy fence. Each of our 4 dog runs is fenced with a 6’ wooden privacy fence and underground wire. This makes our outdoor space double fenced, dig proof and snake proof! We have broken down our overnight boarding options below.
Minimal Kennel Boarding
Custom built, spacious kennels for owners who prefer their dogs to be kenneled overnight.
Open Boarding
Kennel Free Boarding just like in your home. Each room is separated by a gate and door so that each household of pups has their own room and beds. There is a bedroom for our overnight staff. Pups are even allowed to sleep in bed with them upon request.
Zen Dens
Private, kennel free suites with limited sound and no visibility. Within the Zen Dens is a private lounge for one on one human to dog interaction. These suites were custom designed for amazing dogs with special needs, anxieties, fearful behavior or intact.
Doggie Daycare
MONDAY - FRIDAY ONLY
Our Doggie Daycare system was specially designed by one of only 200 Certified Canine Behavior Consultants in the world. Dogs are rotated throughout the day from indoor/outdoor play areas to rest areas based on preference. This prevents over-stimulation by giving them time to mentally and physically recoup in between.
Private rooms are available for dogs that prefer not to socialize with other dogs.
Leashed walks within our property or incorporated through the neighborhood are available upon request.
Retail
Our space includes a small retail shop filled with our favorite things! Seriously, everything in our shop is what we use in house, at home with our dogs or want our dogs to try! Check out our current brands below.

With almost 50 years of combined training experience, Jennifer, Erin, Reed, and Zión are some of the most elite dog trainers in the Austin, Round Rock, Pflugerville and surrounding areas. Together we utilize a collaborative, team approach to expertly provide you and your dog the most unique and successful dog training experience available in the Austin and surrounding areas. We believe that dog training is all about communication, connection, and cooperation, and while we can train just about any behavior (watch us train dogs!), our greatest gift to dog training is the ability to show the dog parent (that's you!) how to train and effectively communicate with your dog. Regardless of your dog training goals, our results based training process will help you build a better relationship with your dog.
Co-founder, Jennifer Burns, is one of only 200 Certified Professional Behavior Consultant Canine- Knowledge Assessed (CBCC-KA) in the world. She is also a Certified Professional Dog Trainer-Knowledge Assessed though the Certification Council of Professional Dog Trainers, a Professional member of the Association of Professional Dog Trainers, a member of the Pet Professional Guild, a Certified AKC Canine Good Citizen Evaluator, a Certified CATCH Mentor Trainer, and she has been published by the APDT as well as the CCPDT. She has a Masters Degree in Psychology, an extensive background working with children, and over 14 years of dog training experience.
Grooming
Currently we partner with local mobile groomers to provide excellent grooming while at our facility. We will be adding in house grooming soon!
